Abarth, $16,800, one owner, >900 miles. It’s listed as an auto, but it’s a manual.
I don’t quite get it, since that’s a good $12,000 off of MSRP.

Are you over 5'10" in height? If so, CP at any price :(
I’m 6'2" and there is no way for me to fit in a modern 124/Miata comfortably. Like, knees-against-the-dash uncomfortable.
If you’re not super leggy, I’d highly recommend buying it though :D
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:05 |

I’m 5’8”. My NC Miata is the only car I’ve ever been it that felt like it was made for me.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:05 |

That seems like a steal to me - like it’s too good to be true.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:05 |

People keep saying they will work for taller folks, they lie.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:06 |

I would say NP and run a fucking carfax to make sure it isn’t flood damaged.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:07 |
|
Then I’d say go for it, but I just noticed the pictured 124 isn’t an Abarth? No scorpion badges on it.
This is an Abarth:
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:07 |

Even if mileage is off by a zero, damn good price. Wonder if it’s a branded title?
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:07 |

Right? I was sure there’d be an accident on the Carfax, but it’s clean. At least on TrueCar, everything around that price has 30-40k on the odometer, and that’s the cheapest Abarth nationally.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:08 |
|
It’s also listed as an auto and...isn’t. Idk if I’d trust that listing.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:08 |

I sat in an ND Miata RF, and put the roof up. It touches the top of my head. It’s a huge shame Mazda doesn’t do a longer-wheelbase BRZ-sized Miata coupe, for tall people.

![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:10 |

That looks like a base model not an Abarth.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:10 |
|
That was my first thought, and MR2 pointed out that it’s not actually an Abarth, so, yeah.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:11 |
|
As others pointed out, I don’t think it’s an Abarth, and it’s not an automatic, so who knows what else is wrong in that listing. But even for a non-Abarth that seems like a good price.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:11 |
|
Not only not an abarth but a base model. So no LSD, screen, leather, anything.
I’d still say it’s a good deal though.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:11 |
|
Good catch. That kind of jives with the listing calling it an automatic .
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:13 |
|
Yeah. I kind of see the lack of a screen or leather as a plus, though.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:13 |
|
I genuinely want an ND just because I know it’s even tighter and I think I’d be even cozier in it.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:14 |
|
Hmm you are on to something maybe like this?
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:15 |
|
If the ND had more legroom I’d have one too. Excellent 2.0L engine, infinite headroom, etc.. Knees-against-the-dash kills it for me.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:15 |

It’s a Elaborazione Abarth which looks like all the Abarth upgrades without a power bump and Abarth badging.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:16 |
|
Needs more RWD though.
I like the V6 FWD coupes, don’t get me wrong, but a Miata coupe it ain’t.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:17 |

Elabora zione Abarth, which is apparently a thing
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:17 |
|
Doh. I actually Googled that first , because I hadn’t seen Elaborazione before, but I didn’t see anything that explained the difference.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:20 |
|
The one thing I’d like mine to have is heated seats, hot butt with the top down is nice. But yea I get your point.
Also, the one thing my friend with an RF GT wishes his had was an LSD.
I test drove like 5 of the things, wouldn’t hurt to check this one out.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:20 |
|
Huh. So it doesn’t have the 10hp boost, but does have the upgraded suspension and LSD, and maybe the brakes? That still seems pretty sweet for the price.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:21 |
|
Not an Abarth, but still a pretty NP for a base model.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:23 |
|
Remember, it has a Fiat engine, not a Mazda engine. That’s why the price difference.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:23 |

Per Lanciere, apparently it’s some weird trim package without the Abarth engine, but with the Bilsteins and the LSD.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:24 |
|
Worth taking a look at. Just because the used lot intake guy doesn’t know what he’s got doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:33 |
|
I think I’d heard it mentioned before but didn’t know it was really a thing before googling it just now.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:35 |
|
TIL that’s a thing - interesting. Seems like an incredible price.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:39 |
|
It’s weird that it’s so hard to find information on it but everything I’m reading from articles gives this rundown. Might be fairly rare or people don’t know they have one used?
“Under its hood, the Elaborazione Abarth makes use of a 1.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder engine that produces 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. That makes this model less powerful than the Abarth by 10 ponies, but it makes up for that with an exclusive set of Bilstein shocks, a mechanical limited-slip diff, monoblock aluminum calipers, and an available Brembo brake system.”
Definitely seems worth a look.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:40 |
|
That’s incorrect - the car you’re looking at is a Classica. Check out the link Lanciere provided - the car shown there looks wayyyyyy different than yours.
Also, from Motor Trend :
The
2017 Fiat 124 Spider Elaborazione Abarth
sets itself apart from the standard car thanks to more aggressive front and rear fascias, black side sills, 17-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, and a quad exhaust system with a unique engine note.Five color choices are available, Bianco Gelato (White Clear Coat), Rosso Passione (Red Clear Coat), Nero Cinema (Jet Black Metallic), Grigio Argento (Gray Metallic), and tri-coat Bianco Perla (Crystal White Pearl).
The car you have pictured doesn’t have any of that. It’s a Classica, which is the base model, and $16k for it with basically no miles is r eally, really NP .

I REQUIRE THIS
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:46 |
|
That makes two of us.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 15:54 |
|
I guess you a re slightly too leggy though; I’m 6'3" and fit just enough to be comfortable. The passenger seat is an absolute no go on the other hand . In any case, m id-engined > front-engined cars for tall people , my MR2 Roadster felt slightly more spacious, and so did an Elise.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 16:00 |
|
I’m 6’1” and decently leggy, and I fit in a 2017 Spider alright. It wasn’t great (mostly because of the seat back), but it wasn’t bad either.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 16:02 |
|
This seems great, if true. I’d at least try to take it for a drive. That is such a NP.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 16:24 |
|
Base model wheels, bumpers, lack of infotainment screen, no Brembos, etc all debunk it being an Elaborazione.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 16:32 |
|
That’s a good call.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 16:37 |
|
I have to retract my earlier posts. While an Elaborazione Abarth is indeed a thing, this car is not one of them. It looks like a base model but still worth checking out at that price.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 16:38 |
|
Yep, I got it wrong, went by what it was listed by instead of really looking at the pics. My mistake.
![]() 02/06/2019 at 18:09 |

Agree. I checked the free vehicle history site (thought might be salvage at that price). No prior reg, so how does it have 800 miles? Seems high for a new car even for a test drive mule.
